First event, Trappers’ Festival The Pas, MB. February 13th -17th, 2008. Three King Trappers’ and 4 wannabes. The 2002-2003 King Trapper Durwin McKenzie dominated to win the crown for the third time. Gerald McKenzie, King Trapper 2004, 2005, 2007 was runner-up.
Laronge Winter Festival was held February 18 and 19th. Some of the contestants from Trappers’ Festival were able to compete on Monday. Richard Charles took first place, Franklin Carriere took second.
Prince Albert Winterfest, March 3 and 4th saw Durwin McKenzie victorious again, but Norman McKenzie very closely behind. At this point, because Norman competed in Laronge, he is two points ahead of Durwin.
Montreal Lake saw Richard Charles be the winner, with Durwin second.
